Gaming is a great way to make and interact with friends, but have you ever wondered if gaming is giving you more friends or taking them away? Well surely your getting more, right?

You Get Some You Lose Some

Games are generally a great way to make friends, whether it’s somebody from school or just somebody you like playing with. This allows you to socialize with more people more often, resulting in more friends. Though there is a downside, since all those friendships are based around gaming it makes your friendships really unstable. Plus if your friend stops playing that game you may lose that friendship all together. Gaming also creates a central hub for you and your friends making it easier to gain and lose friends. You may also find that you get use to making friends online that you may lose the skills necessary to make friends without the game. Making friends through a game also makes it hard to maintain a long term friendship. For example, you have been gaming with somebody for such a long time that you get use to the idea that you are automatically friends until you friend changes their interests and stop playing the game.

Conclusion

Games are a great tool to use when you are making friends but you must not rely on the too much. Friendships should be made by time spent together and not just by playing games. Remember that games are just an extra tool in you friendship toolbox.
